Ink and marker on white clayboard, scratched away like scratchboard. A story in 4 panels, describing the hatching of an alternate flying fish. It hatches from a birds nest, swims in puddles, and finally takes off to fly like a bird. Created for an illustration course this past semester (Fall 2019).
I chose to tell the story of a creature that hatches in a puddle and then flies away. I used abstract shapes and flat perspectives in an imitation of greek red-figure pottery in an attempt to create the impression of a mythological creature.
